HISTORY
Between 65-70% of the conventional oil reserves originally discovered in the United States remain trapped underground today. For decades, we’ve predominantly relied on primary and secondary recovery techniques like flowing, pumping, and water flooding to tap our oil supply. In the 1970’s, the potential of using tertiary methods like CO2 injection to unlock these stranded reserves was recognized and many projects got underway, but the shale boom put things on pause. CO2 flooding was limited to large reservoirs that justified building costly pipelines for supply.
Worldwide demand is forecast to grow by 4.5 million barrels daily over the next 5 years. With potentially declining shale production and persistent demand, the strategic and commodity risks for the U.S. are escalating. The nation has just one extra domestic supply source to maintain energy independence – vast stagnant oil reservoirs that new technology can tap. Shale wells face high costs, rapid decline rates, methane emissions, and well interference. Our patented proprietary gas mixture is a potential industry changer. Our revolutionary technology can unlock up to 40% more oil per field – billions of additional barrels from existing U.S. fields.
SOLUTIONS

PROPIETARY GAS MIXTURE
At Lion Fuel Resources, we manufacture the patent protected process and gases on-site at a lower cost than pipelined CO2, significantly accelerating oil recovery. Our technology is designed to recover more oil quickly from reservoirs, lowering production costs, and improving profitability.
RESEARCH
The components of the patented gas mixture were field tested by Western Oil and Gas on two wells as a proof of concept, originally to determine the impact of Lion Fuel Resource's advanced technology. Additionally, over 60 laboratory tests with various forms of media (sandstone, limestone, etc.) and oils were performed, which demontrated a dramatic improvement of recovery.
RESULTS THUS FAR
Following our field test measurements showed permeability increased 4X, oil production rose 10-fold to 4 BOPD during flowback with the gas mixture present and stabilized at 1.2 BOPD over the following two years.
This early field trial proved the potential of our tertiary recovery mixture to significantly improve oil flow rates in wells.
Further optimization and deployment will unlock even greater production increases from untapped reserves.
