The company’s patented process boosts oil output using a proprietary mix of gases rather than pure CO2. This breakthrough method not only enhances production, but is also eco-friendly, owing to both sequestration of CO2 and potential for making Hydrogen.

Western Oil and Gas, established in 1985, is an independent energy company and licensee of Mtarri’s patented EORGAS technology.
Western has drilled, operated, and participated in hundreds of oil and gas wells, both vertical and horizontal. Western’s primary focus has been on exploration and production in conventional plays of Oklahoma.

Western has now moved towards tertiary production using EORGAS technology for both carbon sequestration and future Hydrogen supply.
Management Team
Frank Bannister, President
Frank Bannister is the president of Western Oil and Gas Development Corporation, which he formed in 1985. He has over 48 years of experience in all phases of drilling and completion operations in several states, most notably in western Oklahoma. He has been involved in operations ranging from 1600 feet oil to 16,000 feet natural gas wells. He has also worked in the field of electrochemical engineering and Gas adsorption processes for a notable UK company.
Bill Hodges, Chief Operating Officer
Bill is Chief Operating Officer for Lion Fuel Resources and responsible for all aspects of the development of the processes and methods the company is applying. As a third-generation member of a family prominent in the transportation, fabrication and operation of drilling rigs, Bill brings extensive experience related to reservoir engineering and has supervised virtually every aspect of drilling and completion operations in his 40 plus years of professional activity. In addition to his work with Lion Fuel, Bill is a petroleum engineer for Western Oil and Gas Development Corporation.
Terry Christensen, Chairman
Terry Christensen is Chairman of Marneal Capital Co., an Investment and Business Management company. Formerly President of Tracinda Corporation, the controlling shareholder of MGM Mirage Resorts, MGM/UA Entertainment company, The Desert Inn Hotel, the Sands Hotel, and MGM Grand Air. Member of the Board of Directors of multiple public companies. Including Lead Director (pursuant to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act) for Fidelity National Financial, MGM Mirage Resorts, Fidelity National Information Services, GIANT GROUP LTD., and Checkers and Rally’s Drive-in Restaurants; Founder and Managing Partner of Christensen, Glaser, Weil. Fink. Jacobs & Shapiro, with representative clients, AT&T, ABC Broadcasting, Fidelity National Title, Chicago Title Company, First Capital Holdings, Diamond Resorts, Majestic Realty, Paramount Pictures, Sony Entertainment, MGM Entertainment, MGM Mirage Resorts, Kirk Kerkorian, Lee Iacocca, City of Los Angeles, County of Los Angeles, and many other notable clients.
Jeff Jordan, Director of Marketing and Joint Ventures
Jeff Jordan – Director of Marketing and Joint Ventures has been involved from inception with a view to industry participation and joint ventures utilizing our patented technology. He has 40 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry working as a representative of a number of major service companies, particularly in recent years involved in both the marketing and manufacturing of large frac fleets. Recent professional employment includes Vice-president, Executive Sales for Baker-Hughes, and President of Chase Energy Services. Mr. Jordan is a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma and a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Charles McFarland, CFO
Charles has worked in the oil and gas industry since May 1979 working two summers as a roustabout in the field and two summers as an accounting clerk for Cities Service/OXY while attending Oklahoma Christian University. After graduation from Oklahoma Christian University in May, 1983, Charles worked for Sundance Oil Company, a privately owned oil and gas exploration and production company, as an accountant and ultimately became Controller. During his tenure at Sundance Oil Company, Charles gained experience in nearly every facet of the oil and gas business with direct involvement in Land Management, Drilling, Completion and Field Operations in addition to his accounting and financial duties. In November, 1990, Charles passed the CPA exam. Leaving Sundance Oil Company in March, 2008 after nearly 25 years, Charles joined Western Oil and Gas Development Corp. as it’s Controller.
Technical Team
Paul Trost, PhD
Paul Trost has over 40 years of experience in both technical and managerial positions. Past positions included being Chief Geochemist for Texas Gulf Sulfur, Partner in a mineral exploration and production partnership responsible for all exploration of both oil and gas and minerals. He was also responsible for all production and engineering activities associated with the oil and gas activities. Paul was a cofounder of SURTEK, Inc., a successful EOR company utilizing chemicals (surfactants, polymers and alkaline agents) for oil recovery projects.
John D. Wright, PhD
John D. Wright is Chief Engineer of Wright Consulting Company in Golden, Colorado. He has more than 50 years of domestic and international oil and gas experience in reservoir engineering and property evaluation and has been an expert witness in more than 50 oil and gas industry cases. He has twice received the SPEE's Distinguished Service Award and became the societies 21st Honorary Life Member in 2018.
Frederick T. Varani, P.E.
Mr. Varani has fifty-four years experience in mechanical, electrical and control design engineering and construction. In addition to power plant engineering, general mechanical engineering, and general controls engineering. Mr. Varani has designed and supervised construction of many methane digesters from farm to industrial scale. Mr. Varani is a Registered Professional Engineer in the states of Colorado and New Mexico, and a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
